    Charity work of Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre  
   
Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre is registered as charitable trust, formed solely for the purpose of establishing, running and managing hospital for medical relief and medical research. It existed solely for philanthropic purposes and not for the purpose of profit.

Jaslok has undertaken to give totally free treatments to the patients from
following institutions adopted by the hospital as a social responsibility
and carrying its objective of charitable in nature.

    Jaslok Community Eye Centre - Hospital Project, Chennai:  
   
Medical Research Foundation at Chennai is an organization headed by
Dr. Badrinath and is engaged in providing free medical treatment including surgical treatment to patients who are rural based, down trodden and indigent.

Management of Jaslok Hospital have contributed for down trodden people of the area so that they will get ophthalmic surgeries free of cost and about 10,000 free surgeries per year are performed with additional Operation Theatres and increased number of beds.

At present, we offer 25% concession against our schedule of charges to persons who are above 65 years for out-door treatment and investigations. In case a senior citizen is admitted in subsidized class, he/she is entitled for waiver of 20% surcharge in the bill

Patients referred by Government and Semi Government Hospitals are given OPD treatment at concessional rates.

We treat the patients of the following Institutions also at special rates:

 
    I.N.S. Ashvini, Railway Hospitals, Bombay Port Trust, O.N.G.C./BARC/NTPC/RCF/BHEL, Income Tax department, Custom & Excise Department and other government undertakings.
Ministry of Defence-Kendria Sainik Board and other similar defence
organizations catering the needs of retired army and government undertaking employees, CGHS employees, Government pensioners, and other beneficiaries under Central Government Health Scheme, etc.
