The
department of Urology has all the modern equipment needed
for Urology at this point in time, including Laser’s,
Lithotriptor, ‘C’ arm, Upper Tract &
Lower Tract Endo Urology and Urodynamics. It has 2 operating
rooms exclusively for Endourology and 2 operating rooms
exclusively for renal transplantation.
The department is “recognized” by the National
Board of Examinations and selects two candidates each
year through a written examination and viva voice for
3 years training and teaching programmes before appearing
for the Diplomate National Board in Urology. The department
has specialty clinics in Paediatric Urology, Female
Urology and a stone clinic.
The Department has had papers presented in various aspects
of Urology at the Zonal and National meetings of the
Urological Society of India, Asian Congress of Urology,
and World Congress in Endourology, European Urology
Association, British Association of Urological Surgeons
and the American Urological Association.
Amongst the faculty are distinguished urologists, who
have been faculty members and Presidents of the Urological
Society of India, and faculty members of the Asian School
of Urology and the Societe Internationale Urologique. |
