This clinic is held on Wednesdays between 10 am to
12 noon. Patients suffering from Peripheral arterial
and venous disorders are evaluated in this speciality
clinic.
Cases of narrowing and blockage of the arteries of
the lower limbs, leading to claudication pain and
gangrene are treated by various non-surgical interventional
procedures, such as balloon angioplasty and stent
implantation. Our specialists have a vast experience
in treating patients with pre gangrene and gangrene
due to such obstructions. Blockages of the arteries
of the neck, which may lead to stroke and paralysis
can also be treated by interventional methods (Carotid
artery angioplasty). Patients suffering from massive
Deep Vein Thrombosis who do not respond to regular
therapy are subjected to Catheter directed thrombolytic
therapy, using various clot-busting drugs. Most of
these treatment methods involve using the special
Digital subtraction angiography equipment, which is
available at Jaslok Hospital. Some of the more treatment
methods include:
-
Carotid artery angioplasty and
stenting
-
Gangrene of foot treated by peripheral
angioplasty - Angioplasty and stenting of the tibio
peroneal trunk, leading to successful healing of
the gangrene – and preventing amputatio
