Is the Managing Trustee of Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre. Hailing from the philanthropic Kewalram Chanrai family which gave India Jaslok Hospital, one of its pillars of quality, world class healthcare, Mrs. Masand has distinguished herself by personally ensuring quality healthcare is provided to all, especially the weaker sections of society at the family founded trust hospital as per the vision of its founders.

An active Trustee of Jaslok Hospital since 1993, and now as Managing Trustee, Kanta Masand has been instrumental in promoting continuing medical education for the doctors and nurses at Jaslok Hospital. She is also credited with being the vision behind the setting up of the Jaslok College of Nursing.

A generous and compassionate lady who is keenly interested in improving the lives of women and children from weaker sections of society, Mrs. Masand has been actively involved with the Maharashtra State Women’s Council’s Asha Sadan, a rescue home for young girls and abandoned children and Seva Sadan, which educates and empowers underprivileged girls and women. Her interest in social work also extends to the Rotary Club; she was an active Rotarian for several years.

Kanta Masand, when not championing the cause of the underprivileged, is passionate about the environment and recycling issues. A lover of plants and fond of gardening, she has a green “thumb.

She has a deep interest in art and antiques. She enjoys reading and travelling when her busy schedule permits.
