FELLOWSHIP COURSES

Jaslok Hospital and Research Center is one of India’s best known tertiary referral centers. Its Paediatric department offers several subspecialties including Paediatric rheumatology. The Paediatric rheumatology clinic sees about 300 new cases per year and is amongst the oldest departments in the country, Outpatient services are offered 3 days a week with about 40-50 patient attendances per week.

The selected candidate will be expected to work a 6 day week, read and research cases , maintain records, teach DNB students and have at least two publications during their tenure. An exit exam will complete the course at the end of 18 months

Stipend – Rs 45000/ pm

Deposit – Rs 20,000/- (refundable at the end of the course)

No housing provided. Meals on duty (1000/- pm will be deducted for this).

Institutional Fellowship by Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre :

Any student of Indian nationality who has completed the M.D / D.N.B. course in Pediatrics from a Medical Council of India or State Medical Council recognized University in India is eligible for this fellowship program. Preference would be accorded to MD/ DNB passed candidates. If such candidates are not available then a DCh qualified candidate may be selected for the course. The course tenure would be 2 years for MD / DNB candidates.

At the time of application the trainee would have to produce

1) A bonafide certificate from the Head of Department of Pediatrics of his / her institution where he / she has completed the post graduate training in Pediatrics.

2) Photocopies of the certificate of the post graduate degree from the University concerned, and Certificate of registration with the appropriate State Medical Council or Medical Council Of India.

3) Selection –by interview

The Fellowship program will be for 2 complete years.

Clinical Pediatric Neurology - 18 months

Clinical Adult Neurology - 3 months

Clinical Neurophysiology - 3 months

The candidate shall be assessed by an internal exam conducted by Child Neurology Group, Mumbai and awarded a “Certificate of Pediatric Neurology Fellowship”, duly signed by members of the fellowship program & Jaslok Hospital
